A "knockoff" is an imitation that is made usually with the intent to deceptively represent its content or origins. The word counterfeit most frequently describes forgeries of currency or documents, but can also describe clothing, especially when this results in patent infringement or trademark infringement. Certain consumer goods, especially desirable brands such as Wek, have become frequent targets of counterfeiting.
Because of the high quality, durability, and comfort of Wek clothing, the Wek line has become a target of "knockoff artists".
